Yikki has atmosphere in spades. It's a pretty space and acts the part to a tee: walls of blond timber, cloth partitions hanging between tables, Japanese greetings in unison the second you enter, jazz music on the speakers. Beyond that, however, there isn't much to distinguish this yakitori and noodle bar from any where else downtown. The menu is a solidly average selection of chicken and seafood grilled on skewers as well as a few signature noodle bowls like "mapo vinegar" and "sumo" ramen. Booze is eminently reasonable, however, with beers at 18 kuai across the board and shochu maxing out at about 350rmb, for a 900ml bottle--more than enough to get the job done.
